Georgia issues no fence-specific contractor licence. Fence installation is treated as specialty trade work, and O.C.G.A. 43-41-17 lets a specialty contractor perform work for an owner without holding a residential or general contractor licence. Note that the widely repeated $2,500 threshold does not appear in 43-41-17 itself; a Peachtree City building permit above four feet applies regardless of licence status.
